Talk to Kelly

Kelly Young is our own version of Lois Lane - a journalist with a very powerful friend.  However, Kelly's friend is not just a comic book character and there is no secret about his identity either.  That's another story - here we let you read what a few people had to say to Kelly about St Peter's.  Why not let her know your story?

Paul Bullworthy, 31, store planning assistant, from High Wycombe – two years at church.

“When I first came to St Peter's I was surprised at how full of life it was.  Really lively – not boring. There’s live music on Sunday mornings!  It seemed so far away from what I’d seen on Songs of Praise. There’s a hubbub here.  The other thing is the people, they’re really nice and what I would call ‘real’. St Peters makes Christianity relevant to people’s lives, to my life.”

Julia Flatley, 27, TWL leader and teacher, from Loudwater – three and a half years at church.
“I love meeting with my friends and the youth at the church. It was really easy to make friends at St Peter's.  People were really friendly and there seemed to be a lot of people my age so it was easy to settle in to the church. It’s a very relaxed church but it’s based in tradition, but there’s nothing wrong with that.  It’s not too "out there" to freak people out. Sunday mornings are always fun, it’s not hard to come to church. I love working with the youth they are so much fun. If you come to St Peter's, come as you are, come expecting church with songs and prayer and come to meet friendly people – and afterwards we go to the pub for lunch!”

Rachel Commander, 41, PA to the cabinet, High Wycombe, six years at church.
“When I first came to St Peter's it was as though I’d walked into a village fete, everyone seemed to know each other and there were real relationships. It didn’t feel like church as I knew it from my youth. I’ve found a group of people that have and do support me through many things that I have been facing in the last few years. It’s the people and the relevant teaching at church that keep me here."
