Dave Renno was a member of the Rock Solid youth leadership team at St Peter's in the 1990s. He enrolled at London Bible College and, in 1999, went out to Uganda on a six week project, as part of his course.
The visit changed his life. He went back the following year for "three years" and nine years on he's still there leading an exciting youth discipleship programme, Deep Roots, which could yet change a nation. Read about how the programme is changing lives in the words of some of the leaders who are being trained.
Find out more about the origins of Deep Roots and look at their local website.
You can also read the latest news letter, from the Potting Shed, telling us what the current priorities are for the Deep Roots teams. The demand for the teaching and encouragement which this team supplies is insatiable, not just around Kasese, but in other parts of Uganda and across the borders in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania as well! What the team is able to provide is limited only by finance. The more we can give, the more lives which can be changed.
Having read more, if you would like to support Deeps Roots, please send your cheque (payable to Deep Roots) to St. Peter's Church Office or, for regular donations, download and complete the attached form, then return it to St Peter's Church Office. You can Gift Aid your donations by completing and returning one of the St Peter's Gift Aid declarations.
St Peter's, registered charity no. 1128016, administers the UK fund raising for Deep Roots as a designated fund with a separate bank account. All donations to Deep Roots, with associated Gift Aid tax rebates, are accumulated and remitted to Deep Roots in Uganda without any deductions other than the bank charges involved.
