Russ Parker will speak at the Parish Weekend on 28th-30th November.

Dave Renno was a member of the Rock Solid youth leadership team at St Peter's in the 1990s.  He enrolled at London Bible College and,  in 1999, went out to Uganda on a six week project, as part of his course.

The visit changed his life.  He went back the following year for "three years" and seven years on he's still there leading an exciting youth discipleship programme, Deep Roots, which could yet change a nation.

Find out more about Deep Roots.

Having read more, if you would like to support Deeps Roots, please download and complete the attached form, then return it to St Peter's Church Office.

STOP PRESS July 2008

The Deep Roots team have just completed a series of residential workshops in which over 100 ambassadors were trained - a tremedous blessing!  However, two things are now hampering their on-going work:

  • Dave and Dani had their laptops and other computer items stolen; and
  • The increase in world food and fuel prices is having a savage impact on the Deep Roots budget.  Food shopping accounts for between 7% and 15% of average net income in the UK; in rural Uganda it was more like 50%.  The price of food staples (rice and maize) in Kasese has doubled since March.  If the price of food doubles when you are already spending half of your income on food, I'm sure you can do the maths!  Deep Roots will need to increase the monthly wage bill, which is currently under £300 per month in total for 7 full and part time staff.

If you would like to support Deep Roots on an on-going basis, please fill in the form referred to above.  If you would like to contribute to the replacement of the stolen kit, or make a one off donation, then please send your cheques, payable to Deep Roots, to St Peter's Church office.
