Dave portraitDave Renno was a member of the Rock Solid youth leadership team at St Peter's in theCaptain portrait 1990s. He enrolled at London Bible College and, in 1999, went out to Uganda on a six week project, as part of his course.  The visit changed his life.  He went back the following year for "three years" and a decade later he's still there leading an exciting youth discipleship programme, Deep Roots, which could yet change a nation.

The co-founder of Deep Roots is Captain Asanasio. Together Dave and Captain have built a team who create materials for and run the discipleship programme for young people across a large area of south west Uganda.

The demand for the teaching and encouragement which this team supplies is insatiable, not just around Kasese, but in other parts of Uganda and across the borders in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania as well!  What the team is able to provide is limited only by finance.  The more we can give, the more lives which can be changed. Having read more, if you would like to support Deeps Roots, please send your cheque (payable to Deep Roots) to St. Peter's Church Office or, for regular donations, download and complete the attached form, then return it to St Peter's Church Office.  You can Gift Aid your donations by completing and returning one of the St Peter's Gift Aid declarations. If you want to give the easy way, click on the link to Virgin Money Giving and you can use plastic to give to Deep Roots and Virgin Money Giving will deal with the Gift Aid. St Peter's, registered charity no. 1128016, administers the UK fund raising for Deep Roots as a designated fund with a separate bank account.  All donations to Deep Roots, with associated Gift Aid tax rebates, are accumulated and remitted to Deep Roots in Uganda without any deductions other than the bank charges involved.
