Men’s Network @ St Peter’s
Dates for your diary:
21 September, 19 October, 23 November, 14 December - all at 8.00pm in the Old Vicarage Louge
What is the primary purpose of the Men’s Network @ St Peter’s ?
To establish a place and time where men can meet and pray together on a monthly basis. We aim to encourage, support and build up the men in the church and community.
Why do men need to meet and pray together?
Men face any number of challenges in their daily lives. These could be at work, college life, going off to University or to do with managing money or relationships. Praying and seeking God’s perspective together can help all who participate.
Not another meeting! How long is this one going to take out of my already busy life?
The monthly meetings are not formal; they are and will be flexible according to each of our needs. Usually held on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month, in the Old Vicarage Lounge, they will last from 8pm until 9:45pm, but you are free to arrive last and leave early if that suits you.
What’s going to happen?
Making time and space for God and each other is the goal. So, what is the format likely to be?
- Welcome and opening prayer
- Music, song, reading from the Psalms, praise
- Seeking God in prayer
- Message and personal stories (rather than a formal bible study, we encourage people to speak about what God has done in their particular situation)
- Small groups (a chance to chat and pray in small groups about what’s been on your mind…)
- Close (song or prayer as appropriate)
After the meeting, some will stay if there are people who would like prayer for specific issues.
What is the vision behind the Men’s Network @ St Peter’s?
That all men of the Church will meet regularly to pray and listen to what God is saying in their lives and the life of the church. (NB: Joel 2:28: “And afterwards, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions”)
If you can’t make the meetings you can click the link and be placed on the Men’s Network @ St Peter’s email distribution list and receive regular email updates.
