Forthcoming events

ALPHA at St Peter's

Watch this space for the dates of the next course, which will give you the opportunity to ask all the questions you want to, as the members try to find out if Christianity really is boring, untrue and irrelevant.

The courses normally start with a Supper and continue each Tuesday evening.

You can see the topics covered on the course and you can also find out more about Alpha from these links.  Use the contact us page if you would like an invitation to the next course or just print a ticket *, complete your menu choices and drop it in or post it to the church office.

Please look at these (inter)national issues where you have a chance to get involved:

  • The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill was passed by the Houses of Parliament in 2008.
More information about this and other moral and ethical issues in today's society can be found at www.care.org.uk

  • Stop the Traffik is a global coalition of organisations working together to fight against people trafficking, which still goes on 200 years after the "abolition" of slavery.  See how you can join the fight, by even a change in your shopping habits, at www.stopthetraffik.org

News from the past

The discovery of a "time capsule" from 1903 has shown us that the congregation of over a hundred years ago faced similar issues to those we face now.  It is interesting to note that one of the decisions recorded was to replace the pews with "more modern" chairs, a decision that was reversed in the 1950's when pine pews were re-introduced.  ...more
